Teach Yourself Training is
for managers who have been given responsibility for
training and who need an overview of the whole subject
so that they can assess the training needs within their
organisation and then choose the appropriate solution.
In this book you will:
· Get an overview of training and find out how
you can decide what training will help your organisation
· Find out whether your ideal training solution
can be provided in-house or whether you should
source it externally
· Learn how to design and deliver a training
event
· Discover how to evaluate training
Teach Yourself Training
looks at what benefits you should expect from your training,
the different types of training that are available (both
from external providers and in-house provision) and
how to design and deliver an internal course including
the use of visual aids to enhance presentation. You
will also see how to evaluate the results of the training
both during a training event and after so that you will
be able to assess its effectiveness. Along the way,
you will look at the presentation skills that you need
to be able to deliver a course or seminar and also meet
some of the learning types that you may come across
on your journey towards becoming a trainer. There are
lots of tips on topics such as presentation and creating
visual aids plus sample forms for course assessment,
revision tests and self-assessment.
The very first chapter will introduce
you to the important topic of analysing the training
needs of your organisation and will help you to make
the decisions necessary to use training to move the
business forward. Later in the book you will look at
the choices available to you regarding your training
solutions – including coaching, mentoring, on-the-job
instruction and induction training. After a look at
running an in-house training event, you will discover
the methods by which you can evaluate the success of
any training given. |
