Are you looking for a course to help you achieve A-level standard in German? Perhaps you are taking the language up again after a break from it? Teach Yourself Improve your German is the ideal way to extend your language skills if you already have some knowledge of German. Whether you’ve completed Teach Yourself German or any other beginners’ German course, either by yourself or at evening class, you will find this the perfect course for building on your existing knowledge and improving your spoken and written language.

The choice of material aims to give you something of the flavour of German-speaking countries today and each unit is based around a single theme with lively interviews and conversations on the accompanying recording. There are activities based on the interviews and texts to help you remember what you’ve learnt and put your knowledge into practice.

The accompanying CDs are available separately or in a pack with the book.

Paul Coggle, co-author, is an experienced university teacher of German, who has taught courses from beginners to postgraduate level. He was a pioneer in the development and use of multimedia language learning materials at the University of Kent, and has acted as a Language Consultant for the BBC and the University of Cambridge Language Centre. He is series editor for the Teach Yourself language courses.

Heiner Schenke, co-author, was born in Hannover and is a native speaker of German. He has taught German at university level for many years and is currently teaching at the University of Westminster.
