Teach Yourself Italian Grammar is an up-to-date introduction to Italian grammar. You don't need to know a lot about grammar before you start. Everything is explained simply and there are lots of examples to illustrate each point.

Unlike more traditional grammars, this book is structured so that you can look up language forms according to what you want to say, even if you don't know the grammatical term for them. If you already know some grammar, then you can use the 'reference grammar' section at the back of the book to look up the points you need.

Anna Proudfoot, the author, was born in Scotland but has spent long periods in Italy since childhood. Since graduating from the University of London, she has taught Italian in higher, further and adult education in London, Cambridge, the USA and now Oxford. Her main interests are in developing language materials for adult learners and she has written other Italian Grammar textbooks. She is currently Head of Italian at Oxford Brookes University, where she is also in charge of Oxford Brookes Language Services, which offers language training for business and runs intensive Italian language weekends for the general public.
